East Coast Turkeys

We spent Thanksgiving in South Carolina. The little community (pronounced Ed-isto rather than E-disto, as we originally thought) is very cute, calm, and remote. A little under an hour from Charleston, we spent an afternoon exploring that section of the coast.

Our nieces are very sweet entertainers. Mollie insisted on wearing her "fancy dress" the afternoon we went into Charleston and was upset when her little sister couldn't also wear hers. Though we were pretty sure she was cold, she didn't complain about it a single time. Lucy is an amusing almost-two tyke whose favorite word combo may be, "RIGHT NOW!" which is less amusing for her sister and mother who are often on the receiving end, but it's still kind of funny to hear her demand when to put her shoes on or get her snacks. She sang "Twinkle Twinkle" several times as she rode her uncles shoulders around town, which we all found more than adorable.

We returned on Saturday, spent an evening with a girlfriend of mine who just returned from Iraq, then got up on Sunday morning to visit with more family in town for the holiday weekend. Nealah and Alainah played on their swing, slide, and Flintstone-type cars while we chatted with Uncle Doug and Aunt Paulette. Who can beat a holiday weekend like that?!
