Welcome to my new blog! We have moved to The District to attend graduate school. After quite a hiatus, we are both full-time students once more. With this blog I intend to keep up with all of you folks we miss so dearly, and tell anecdotes of what's going on while we are living in these parts. After only a week of classes under my belt, I can tell that it's going to be an exquisitely busy two years (which is part of the reason for the delay in getting this electronic journal started!)
A blurb on getting here: I left my job in June, Hubby and I popped over to Louisiana for the wedding reception we never had, then flew up to DC and stayed with a kind cousin and her adorable family while we searched for a place to live. While our household goods were making their way to the East Coast from Hawaii via ship (a ~6 week long adventure), we figured that if we were living out of suitcases, it may as well be in an interesting location... so across the Pond we went to spend an exciting, possibly last "real" summer for the next ~40 years! (More on our trip in an upcoming entry.) We have now moved in to our home and there will probably be plenty of organizing to keep us busy for a while, but we're enjoying being in a cool new place with so much to offer, and being students again.
Life is busy, exciting, and full of new experiences to be had! We are looking forward to getting into the routine of all that is coming. So for those of you reading, keep me in the loop with what's going on with you, and hopefully I can regularly do the same here!
